Admission Policy

Pakistan Institute of Rehabilitation Sciences (PIRS) is committed to a fair and inclusive admission process. Students are enrolled in undergraduate programs based on academic qualifications, entry test performance, and interviews. Preference is given to students with disabilities, female candidates, and applicants from rural areas to promote equity and equal access to education.

Admission Overview.

Students are admitted to the following undergraduate programs at PIRS:

  1. BS Vision Sciences – Bi-annual intake
  2. BS Audiology – Annual intake
  3. BS Prosthetics and Orthotics – Annual intake

Degree Duration

  • Minimum Duration: 4 Years (8 Semesters)
  • Maximum Duration: 6 Years

Eligibility Criteria

The following are the minimum academic requirements for admission into undergraduate programs:

BS Vision Sciences Qualification: Intermediate (HSSC) pre-medical or equivalent (A-levels) from any Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education of Pakistan or equivalent examination recognized by IBCC.

Minimum Marks: 50% in HSSC or equivalent.

Admission Test: Entry test is conducted by the institution. Due weightage is also given to NTS (NAT) / PMC test.

Additional Guidelines

  1. All admissions are based on open merit.
  2. Priority is given to students with disabilities, female applicants, and those from rural areas.
  3. The list of selected candidates is finalized by the Admission Committee.
  4. Any queries or objections must be directed to the Executive Director of the institute.
  5. Successful candidates will be informed via phone or email.
  6. Admission letters are issued after submission of all required documents and payment of the full fee within the given deadline.
