Ms. Saima Ghufran is an accomplished optometrist and academic leader specializing in orthoptics, contact lenses, low vision, and dispensing optics. A gold medalist and best graduate of Khyber Medical University, she holds an MPhil in Optometry and certifications from Brien Holden Vision Institute, Australia, and the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine.


As a pioneer faculty member at PIRS, she has over a decade of teaching and leadership experience, including curriculum development for BS Optometry, Audiology, and Prosthetics & Orthotics programs. She has supervised 105 undergraduate research projects and conducted numerous workshops for faculty and students nationwide.


Ms. Saima Ghufran was honored as a Global Eye Health Hero (2021) by the International Agency for Prevention of Blindness and has published 12 research papers in renowned national and international journals. Her expertise spans academic leadership, research, mentoring, and advancing eye health education in Pakistan.
